Ilya "Illidan" Pivtsev, a streamer from
Team Spirit, admitted that he earned around $45,000 from betting during the DreamLeague Season 22 tournament. This is more than half of the prize money earned by the players of the team, who took fourth place in the final standings.
The corresponding statement was made during the streamer's broadcast on Twitch.
"Did I win 45 grand on this tournament for nothing? It was a record-breaking tournament for me in terms of earnings. I completely **** earned the money for myself"
According to Illidan's words, he managed to earn money specifically from betting. He did not specify which matches were the most profitable for him, but admitted that he earned huge money for himself. Interestingly, the
Team Spirit players earned $85,000 at the tournament.
Even if we don't consider the percentage that the organization may take, each of the 5 players earned around $17,000. For a more vivid comparison, it can be said that the streamer earned twice as much money from the tournament as the two-time Dota 2 world champion Ilya "Yatoro" Mulyarchuk.
Illidan is considering spending this money on a trip to Japan. However, he wants to plan everything in such a way that the trip does not negatively impact his streams, so he is still thinking through his decision.
Recall that earlier Illidan named Yatoro the best carry in the world, stating that it is not even up for discussion.
