Ilya "Illidan" Pivtsaev, Team Spirit streamer, stated that The International 2024 is the last world championship in Dota 2 that holds the highest significance for esports players. Moving forward, Riyadh Masters will become the main tournament of the year, according to the streamer.

"The prize pool of TI is still higher than any other tournament except Riyadh. So, it shouldn't be completely diminished. But I think this is the last year when TI is valued more than Riyadh"
