Dmitry "Korb3n" Belov,
Team Spirit manager, issued a public apology for his hasty statements accusing Ernest "Fam0us" Naibauer of potential cheating, as the investigation proved his innocence.
Korb3n released his statement on his telegram account.
“I mean wow, this is certainly unexpected. Today, me and him were blessed with a meeting alongside a specialist. This was all in order to ask him questions further to gathering a few replays from him.
Let me clarify things from the top:
I was reached out by several managers to check out the Y5 team,
Of course, I wouldn’t have deep dove into the replays myself given my skill level is weak.
I should’ve never posted that on twitter because all I ended up doing is making baseless accusations. I sincerely apologize to Ernest”
Korb3n explained that after a closer look at the incident, it was evident that no violations of the rules nor of the usage of an external program took place. He accepted his mistakes and also revealed his thoughts of the possibility of bringing Fam0us on the team calling him a fair gaming individual.
“During the phone, there were three major aspects that we talked about:
- The Tiny play.
- The Lich play.
- The smoke situation near the triangle and the scan.”
There were also concerns regarding ward placements after watching the replays. We reviewed all the questions with one of the coaches from the staff.
As far as Dota is concerned, Ernest had logic for all questions asked. You know, communication is an essential part of the team, so some of the answers were in that context, but not entirely, most of them made sense. Some got explanations which left no doubt or ambiguity.
Fam0us also pointed out: “If there are any doubts, people or any ADS who have them, I can be contacted directly. I’m ready to share my screen or explain in detail the moments in the game that raised questions to me after or at the convenient time”
After this review, I would invite Fam0us to a team. In my opinion, I didn’t find anything suitable there to damage his reputation.”
It should be mentioned that Korb3n once got suspicious of Fam0us being a participant who cheats or uses 3rd party programs during the Dota 2 tournament qualifiers.
