Team Spirit failed to defend their world championship title at The International 2024

Team Spirit were defeated by Xtreme Gaming in the lower bracket of The International 2024 playoffs, losing their chance to defend their Dota 2 World Champion title.

Ilya "Yatoro" Mulyarchuk's team managed to secure a win on the first map thanks to a mistake by Ame's squad. Xtreme Gaming attempted to enter the enemy base without buybacks, allowing Spirit to quickly destroy their throne.

However, Xtreme Gaming dominated the next two maps, crushing the two-time TI champions in just 26 and 29 minutes, respectively. The roster, led by Yaroslav "Miposhka" Naidenov, failed to claim the world championship title for a third time.

Team Spirit concluded their run in the tournament with a 9th-12th place finish, earning at least $49,000 in prize money. Xtreme Gaming secured a top-8 spot.
