Vladislav “lo9d” Drozdov, manager of
Team Spirit’s CS2 roster, said that in reality coach Sergey “Hally” Shavaev does not shout at players during matches, but simply calls loudly, giving instructions for the rest of the round,
He spoke about this in an interview on YouTube.
“Many people asked us why Hally yells at players during the match. He answered that maybe it just looks like that from the outside. It’s just that Seryoga speaks loudly and clearly so that he is definitely heard. This is important because he is calling the round. From the outside it may seem like he is shouting at someone or scolding them. But that’s not true at all”
According to him, although Hally’s communication looks pretty harsh from the side, in fact he is not yelling at the players, he is just calling. The manager emphasized that the coach needs only a couple seconds to calm the players down and all the rest of the time he spends on explaining the plan for the next round
Lo9d also stressed that the coach does not waste time to put short pauses, but seriously focuses on explaining the plan, so the players can show maximum efficiency in the match.
