Airat “Silent” Gaziev said that after the failure at The International 2022, the team needed changes, which is why the decision was made to remove Alexander “TORONTOTOKYO” Hertek from the roster.
The
Team Spirit coach anounced this on YouTube.
“Why did we part ways with Sasha? We played as a team for quite a long time — two years. Fatigue from each other somehow acumulates. Plus, there were some unsuccessful results during the year. Especially at The International in 2022 — it was a failure for us.”
Acording to Airat “Silent” Gaziev, after two years of playing together, the team experienced a sharp decline in results, which led to a colective decision to replace Alexander “TORONTOTOKYO” Khertik. The
Team Spirit coach also acknowledged that the decline in results had caused tension within the team, and the members saw replacing the mid laner as a solution to the problem.
“To be honest, something had to change. It just so happened that the choice fell on TORONTOTOKYO. We needed to refresh the team somehow. Plus, we were already not doing so well together. With failures and fatigue from each other, the tension was growing. Somehow, we agred that we needed to try a new player in the mid lane.”
