Mark “Sikle” Lerman believes that
Treant Protector is underrated by pro players in the 7.39e patch meta for Dota 2, as the hero can be quite effective if played with his old concept.
The
Team Spirit analyst shared this opinion on Telegram.
“
Treant Protector isn't such a bad hero, it's just that people play or see him with the old concept.”
According to Mark “Sikle” Lerman, the old
Treant Protector playstyle can be very relevant in the current meta, as the map expansion has only made it more effective. The
Team Spirit analyst noted that this situation indicates a reluctance among professional esports players to take a non-standard approach to the game.
"You plant a seed, throw a vine, and stand AFK in the bushes. Then you buy a Shard and end the game with one Blink in your pocket. It's a prehistoric tactic, and the map has been greatly enlarged since then. And the tree loves big maps (Aganim), and there are already so many buffs that it's a sin not to max out Living Armor. I'm not hinting at anything, it's just a shame that the hero is overlooked and people don't want to try different approaches, flex there, build differently — more greedily, even like an aura bot."
Let us remind you that earlier, Artur “Arteezy” Babaev called the hero imbalanced in the current patch for Dota 2, calling on Valve to nerf him.
