Team Spirit admitted why they refused to play at the prestigious tournament

Team Spirit refused to participate in PGL Cluj-Napoca 2026, as they did not expect that all the best teams in the world would attend, which was a surprise for them.

This was told by Sergey “hally” Shavaev, the team’s coach, during an interview on YouTube.

“When we planned the schedule for the season, we chose many tournaments that we will not miss, but we did not expect that everyone would go to PGL. We were very surprised seeing the list of participants”

According to the team’s coach, Team Spirit did not plan to skip PGL Cluj-Napoca 2026, however they changed their mind after seeing the list of participants. The club was extremely surprised that all the best CS2 teams in the world would attend, explained hally.

Fans assumed that the team considered the tournament as an easy warm-up without serious opponents, and after the announcement of participants decided not to waste energy on it and focus on more important tournaments for Team Spirit.
