Dmitry “Korb3n” Belov,
Team Spirit’s manager, said that he almost stopped searching for young players through pub replays, and now focuses more on analyzing scrims because of Dota 2 restrictions.
He talked about this during a Twitch stream.
“How often do I watch replays of promising players? Right now the market changed a little bit. Now you mostly watch scrims and make conclusions from there. Because the problem is that you can spot somebody while watching games. But for example, if you liked a player, you can’t just go into his profile anymore and check all of his matches — like on specific heroes or something else. The meta changed a little bit now, so I watch it less often.”
Korb3n pointed out that the new rules no longer allow people to open a player’s profile and see all of their matches or performances on certain heroes. The manager also mentioned changes in the Dota 2 pro-scene market, so now he watches scrims more often and makes conclusions based on them.
Judging by his words, now promising players need to show more talent during team practice, rather then in Dota 2 matchmaking.
