Miroslav “Mira” Kolpakov, who is a support in
Team Spirit, has acknowledged that his team has been struggling this year. The players faced many challenges individually and also they did not fully understand Dota 2.
This was revealed by the professional gamer during an interview with Alexey “STORM” Tumanov on Twitch.
“Our form at 1WIN tournament showed everything. If you cannot win such small events or qualifiers, it means there are problems with each player’s understanding or form. It was actually so. At that moment it was hard to understand what we need to do to get better. We just could not win anything. There were few calls. There were too many micro mistakes and lots of feeding afterwards. We lacked concentration, which included me as well. My head wasn’t on point at all times when we played so poorly”
The pro-player said that
Team Spirit had difficult beginning of the season without knowing what was wrong with it then. He stated they made many mistakes while playing but later decided to solve things finally.
“Before ESL One Birmingham in 2024, we decided to pull ourselves together entirely; this tournament was very significant for us indeed! Prior to that we have played hundreds of scrims and won twenty-two of them! Everything seemed good! So then we went into the tournament charged up for weeks and maybe didn't play against the strongest opponents in our group stage game matches either but surprisingly enough everything fell apart for us in tie breakers: perhaps it must be the worst day over these six months; it was very tough”
However, even though their training was intense enough, Mira recalls that winning the tournament had proved difficult for them as a team. Nonetheless, after some time these players managed to get back on track again and as a result PGL Wallachia Season 1 saw world champions happen to be victorious.
Recall that Ilya "Yatoro” Mulyarchuk has earlier explained his decision to declare
Team Liquid captain during the match.
