Team Liquid revealed an unexpected reason for their losses at ESL One Bangkok 2024

Samuel “Boxi” Svahn, Team Liquid support, said the club are just getting into the, which is why they were inconsistent during the group stage of ESL One Bangkok 2024.

The esports player shared this in an interview at the tournament.

“For me personally, it’s been hard to find my form at this tournament for various reasons. We probably just need to warm-up a bit and set in place things that worked in past games or tournaments and things that didn’t. We seem to have more freedom in our strategies than other teams, which may be helpful towards the end of the tournament but for the start, it could be a weakness as well. We’ll see”

Boxi pointed out that the game mentality of Team Liquid differs from the other teams in the tournament. He stated that in the early stage of the tournament their lineup might be a bit weak because they like to change their gameplay in the mid competition, which gives them a chance to be more dominant. The Dota 2 World Champion specified that such tactics may not give the most immediate results but can play a big role for the players towards the final stages of the tournament.

Even though Team Liquid lost two games, they managed to move on to the playoffs, albeit in the lower bracket of the tournament. However, several of the fans are of the opinion that the winners of The International 2024 might stand good chances of finishing in the first position.
