Team Falcons were taken aback by the aggressive farming tactics of
9 Pandas, leading to their loss on one map during the ESL One Kuala Lumpur 2023 match.
Andreas "Cr1t-" Nielsen, representing
Team Falcons, made this admission during a post-match interview.
"We played against a very specific team. We had to adapt a bit because it's not even Dota - farming our jungle at the 2nd minute. It's a different kind of game. It's very interesting to play against this team. It's not what we're used to. It's a good lesson for us about playing against teams that do something unusual. But we managed to adapt in the second map"
The esports athlete emphasized that while he had seen similar approaches, he had never played against such tactics before. Nevertheless, the team was able to adjust and win the second map, resulting in a draw for the match.
"9 Pandas had such games in the last season. They try to farm a lot of creeps simultaneously. When you think about what they're doing, it's madness. It's not even Dota. They're just trying to hit a bunch of creeps. It's something new. I've seen a couple of games where they did the same thing before, but I've never played against it. It's a strange feeling. Yesterday we played against Team Liquid - someone is farming, someone is fighting there, someone is fighting here. And these guys just farm everything, nothing happens. A crazy farming festival, it's something new"
It's worth noting that
9 Pandas unexpectedly managed to defeat the new favorites of the tournament,
Team Falcons, and played to a draw with them during the group stage of ESL One Kuala Lumpur 2023. However, even this shocking turn of events didn't help RAMZES666's team advance to the tournament's playoffs.
