Stanislav "Malr1ne" Potorak, midlaner of
Team Falcons, stated that his team experienced terrible lag during the grand final of PGL Wallachia Season 2, which severely affected their performance.
The esports player shared this on his Telegram channel.
"The games were lagging. The first two maps were fine. When Analog played on Earth Spirit – he had no lag, but when I played – dealing with these freezes made me want to do some questionable things. I understand that everyone was lagging, but I think people who play Dota know what it’s like to lag on Earth Spirit. It’s simply impossible to play, you can’t land a single spell. I completely lost connection with the game, I didn’t understand what was happening"
However, despite this excuse for the loss, Malr1ne acknowledged that
Team Falcons were indeed not in their best form, missed many runes, and simply couldn’t outplay David "Parker" Flores from
Heroic.
"We deserved to lose. Terrible form, we're playing poorly, nothing is working. We're still in the process of recovery. I hope we can get back on track because more tournaments are coming soon. Heroic were great, Parker is a machine, 1v9. I don’t deny that we played poorly, but maybe there really is some mythical force, and luck just wasn’t on our side. I didn’t get lucky with any runes, maybe 5-10% of the time. It was the same against Analog in the upper bracket"
He noted that while he acknowledges Parker’s high level of play, he hinted that the player was also fortunate in some moments.
It’s worth noting that
Team Falcons had previously discussed the possibility of kicking Malr1ne following the roster’s losses in Dota 2 tournaments.
