Team Falcons refused to shake hands with
Gaimin Gladiators after defeating them at BetBoom Dacha Dubai 2024. Judging by the footage, this could have been an indication from the team's captain, Ammar "ATF" Assaf.
The scandalous moment was reported by Melchior "Seleri" Hillenkamp, the captain of
Gaimin Gladiators, who posted a statement on his Twitter.
"We lost today, unfortunately. At least I learned a lot, which is nice. The highlight of my day is ATF typing me three times and then not coming to shake my hand. You honestly won, bro, at least shake my hand"
The esports player noted that ATF typed him three times during the match but didn't approach after the battle, despite winning.
Team Falcons player never explained the action of his team. However, in the footage, it can be seen that two teammates, Jinjun "Sneyking" Wu and Stanislav "Malr1ne" Potorak, were ready to observe the formality and were heading to shake hands with
Gaimin Gladiators.
Interestingly, they were stopped by other teammates who gestured that they wouldn't go to the opponents. The esports players also seem to say something, but their voices are not audible. This is not the first handshake scandal at BetBoom Dacha Dubai 2024. Earlier, Neta "33" Shapira from
Team Liquid also refused to shake hands with Quinn "Quinn" Callahan and other
Gaimin Gladiators players.
