Avery "SVG" Silverman, a streamer and former esports player, stated that Valve has a strange approach to Dota 2 updates. According to him, the developers introduced a huge number of facets for heroes at once, but many of them are broken, and it will take a year to balance them.
He spoke about this in an interview with
Tundra Esports YouTube channel.
"There are so many dead and broken facets in the game that it will take us a whole damn year to adjust them, even by 5%. There's something in Valve's philosophy. They're willing to make radical changes to the game but don't want to quickly fix them. I don't know what that's about. I'm sure there's something supporting this in terms of balance. I understand that they can add one unit of armor and two units of strength to a hero to increase their win rate by 5%"
There are problems with balance according to the former esports player. To him, if one of these features is picked in 60% of all games then that’s fine on average; however, there are heroes who have their features selected in nine out of ten games, which is an issue. According to him all these problematic areas may take several months to get balanced out.
Worth noting here is that SVG has mentioned before
Team Secret being disbanded possibly due to Jean "Gorgc" Stefanovski.
