Organizers of the Esports World Cup, where one of the largest Dota 2 championships is likely to take place, have managed to reach an agreement to hold a League of Legends tournament at the event, which is usually prohibited by Riot Games.
This information was shared by the portal Jacob Wolf Report, citing an internal studio email.
It's surprising that Riot Games agreed to such a proposal, as they usually prohibit third-party operators from organizing tournaments for LoL and handle it themselves. Exceptions are only made for fan events.
Even more surprising is that RG not only allowed League of Legends to be included in the list of disciplines but also sent recommendations to studios to help them plan their activities without overlapping with the Esports World Cup. This indicates that Riot Games is very interested in collaboration.

According to rumors, the Esports World Cup could feature a record-breaking prize pool for a Dota 2 tournament, which could significantly exceed $15 million. Some insiders have even mentioned astronomical sums like $50 million. However, there have been no official announcements on this matter yet.
