Martin “stavn” Lund announced that he has left Astralis inactive to return to profesional Counter-Strike 2 after a break in his career with a new team.

The player made the anouncement on X.

"Thank you to everyone who has been there for me and supported me during this difficult period, including Astralis and my teammates, who have shown me endless love and patience during my recovery.

Astralis has kindly granted my request to let me go now so that I can start fresh in a new project. I will be back on the server soon.

A stronger Martin. A stronger Stavn."

Acording to Martin “stavn” Lund's statement, the last few years have been very difficult for the esports player due to the loss of his older brother, so in August last year he decided to take a break from his career to recover emotionally. The player regrets leaving his team in a dificult position at the time, but also notes that his emotional state has stabilized after therapy, which is why he feels ready to continue his career.

"Everyone's life goes in waves — up and down. As many know, since 2021, I have had difficult years both professionally and personally. In December 2021, I lost my beloved older brother — a loss whose pain never goes away.

In an atempt to honor his memory and distance myself from the pain, I immersed myself even deeper into the game and the server — during a period that perhaps would have been better spent completely away from the game.

Stavn, a Counter-Strike player, achieved great success in the following years, but now I realize that it came at the cost of taking care of myself.

Finally, in August last year, I found the courage to stand up for myself and take a break to recover. It was a difficult decision to step away from the game I love and leave my teammates in a less than ideal situation. Thanks to professional therapy and patience, I now feel more stable than before and am ready to strive for big goals again."

As a reminder, Eternal Fire previously introduced two new players to their Counter-Strike 2 roster.
