Alexey “Solo” Berezin believes that Valve developers severely damaged Dota 2's reputation when they removed the ability to play with friends in high-ranked matchmaking.
The player shared his opinion on Twitch.
“Dota was killed when they removed party matchmaking. It's crazy that the developer is pushing players to play solo. I mean a normal level of play, Immortal Draft.”
According to Alexei “Solo” Berezin, developers are now forcing players to play ranked matches alone, which not only prevents them from enjoying Dota 2 in company while raising their MMR, but also often leads to unpleasant or irresponsible teammates.
“The developer itself forces players to play solo matchmaking. But the game is super team-based. Before, people would get together and play ranked games, sweat it out, and play as a team. But now everyone plays solo matchmaking with people they don't know.”
