Solo gave a candid assessment of Topson’s current skill level

Alexey “Solo” Berezin believes that, at the moment, Topias “Topson” Taavitsainen isn’t even among the top ten mid laners on the Dota 2 pro scene.

The player shared this opinion on Twitch.

“Is Topson among the top five mid laners? In general? I think he is. Overall, he definitely is. But right now, definitely not. Not even close. He probably isn’t even in the top 10. But in Dota history—of course, 100%. Players who don’t just go with the flow, don’t follow the meta, but come up with their own strategies always impress me. It’s cool when someone pushes their own style. Because there are so many young players—followers of Dotabuff or ProTracker—who look at builds and just copy them. I wanted to say something negative about these people. It’s not even about their mindset, I think.”

According to Alexey “Solo” Berezin, Topias “Topson” Taavitsainen’s current preparation lags behind the top favorites on the pro scene in the mid lane. Nevertheless, the esports player still ranks among the top five players in his position in the history of the discipline. Solo noted that he respects players who come up with their own strategies rather than simply copying builds.
