Oliver “Skiter” Lepko, the carry of
Team Falcons, stated that Valve may be preparing a major update for Dota 2, and could also focus on developing esports.
The world champion told GosuGamers portal about this.
“I think Valve is working on some big update, it’s just not ready yet. I don’t think the developers have abandoned the game. Maybe preparing the update just takes a bit more time. Also, I’ve heard some good news about the future of esports in Dota 2. Maybe Valve will focus on this part of the game again, time will tell”
According to him, the Dota 2 developers are currently working on a major update with a lot of content, but it is not ready for release yet. Skiter is also confident that Valve haven’t abandoned Dota 2 development, and moreover, the developers could return to supporting esports.
The pro player did not reveal exactly what he meant, but it is not excluded that Valve could return to organizing Dota 2 tournaments, which could serve as a replacement for the DPC, from which Valve previously decided to step away.
Recall that earlier, Artour “Arteezy” Babaev addressed Valve after the release of the Monster Hunter crossover in Dota 2.
