Dmitry “Sh1ro” Sokolov believes that
Team Spirit had a chance to beat Furia, but the team won too few rounds on the defensive side, which led to their defeat on the decisive map.
The player made this statement on Telegram.
"Hello, everyone. Our match against Furia is over — we lost 1-2. Mirage was interesting, there were overtime rounds, we almost pulled it off, but then they beat us. We weren't in the game at the end.
Then there was Dust2. They surprised us a little bit too, but we were able to recover and take control of the match. We won the map 13-8 without any particular problems. It wasn't difficult.
We had problems on Nuke. We probably just didn't get into our groove. We were unfocused in some places, but not in others. We could have even won from a score of 3:9. We decided the situation on the map and in the clutch. It's like... We could have caught up. We could have even done it in the last round. We have what we have. We took too few rounds on defense. Tomorrow is the match for third place. Cheer for Spirit."
According to Dmitry “Sh1ro” Sokolov,
Team Spirit played well at the beginning on the Mirage map, but later their opponents took the initiative. On Dust2, the opponents also managed to surprise
Team Spirit with their play, but Sh1ro's team was still able to take control of the battle and win the map. However, on Nuke, where the outcome of the match was decided, Furia's players proved to be stronger.
We would like to remind you that earlier, Miroslav “zont1x” Plakhotya gave a candid assessment of
Team Spirit's current level of preparation.
