Melchior "Seleri" Hillenkamp, the captain of
Gaimin Gladiators, acknowledged that the team is gradually adjusting its playstyle after replacing Anton "Dyrachyo" Shkredov with Alimzhan "Watson" Islambekov and is now also aiming to play for the late game.
The esports player shared this insight in an interview with CYBER.
"It might look like we're always going for a Deathball, but that’s only because we’ve won the lanes significantly. So, I’m not sure if that will change. If we dominate the lanes right now, we'll keep doing the same thing. In that sense, there aren't many changes. But now we have Watson, who really enjoys playing a lot of late-game heroes. He prefers it. When the game is even, we can comfortably chill and farm"
Seleri explained that GG doesn’t plan to completely abandon their tempo-based playstyle and will often continue to pressure opponents in the lanes. However, he emphasized that Watson is accustomed to playing late-game heroes, so the team is now also prepared to extend matches into the late game when necessary.
It’s worth noting that even opponents have recognized this shift in GG's playstyle. However, many still feel the team is attempting to balance both tempo and late-game approaches.

Gaimin Gladiators without Dyrachyo.
