Melchior “Seleri” Hillenkamp stated that he sympathizes with Santiago “Tailung” Agüero and the other players on the
LGD Gaming Dota 2 roster amid the 322 scandal involving the esports player.
The player shared this opinion on his personal X page.
“I feel for LGD, but also for Tailung. I was desperately in need of money myself when I was 17, so I can understand that something like this can happen… Adults sometimes make idiotic decisions. Kids, on the other hand, can make damn stupid decisions.
It’s sad that this happened to the kid. To hell with all the gambling ads everywhere. I agree that we shouldn’t excuse his actions, but I don’t even know how much of the truth we’re aware of. Was he already a 322-shil before esports?
Maybe he was threatened that everything would be exposed if he didn’t keep doing it? I’d rather blame the normalization of gambling for this than a 17-year-old kid.”
According to a statement by Melchior “Seleri” Hillenkamp, there was also a period in the esports player’s life when he was in desperate need of money at a young age, which is why he understands that 322 schemes can be tempting. Moreover, Seleri believes that Tailung may have fallen into debt due to a gambling addiction or may even have received threats.
As a reminder, Aiden “Insania” Sarkoi previously commented on the replacement of Santiago “Tailung” Agüero with Topias “Topson” Taavitsainen on the
LGD Gaming roster.
