Melchior “Seleri” Hillekamp has announced that he is retiring from professional Dota 2 after ESL One Birmingham 2026.
The esports player made the announcement on X.
“After ESL One Birmingham 2026, I’m going inactive/retiring. It’s been an incredible experience, but the tournament schedule has become too intense for me. I’ve enjoyed every moment spent on stage.”
According to Melchior “Seleri” Hillenkamp’s statement, the decision to retire was made due to the intense tournament schedule. The player also noted that he was fortunate not to feel stressed even during intense matches at LAN tournaments, and thanked fans for their understanding regarding his veganism. The former esports player thanked all his former teammates for playing together, and his family and girlfriend for their support.
“I was lucky not to feel much stress even during the most intense matches in front of an audience. Thank you for accepting my veganism. It’s very important for me to promote it.
I am grateful to all my teammates with whom I’ve played throughout my career, as well as to those who supported me. Thank you to my girlfriend and family for always being there for me.”
