Season 2 of Arcane made history by setting an incredible global record

The company also had to invest heavily in marketing, with advertising for the anime costing $60 million.

The journalists also discovered that Riot Games spent more on the series than Netflix. These huge expenses led to Arcane becoming the most expensive animated series in history.

It is possible that the massive costs contributed to the decision to cancel the series after the second season, despite the overwhelming success of the League of Legends adaptation.
