Reddit: «The Compendium Sucks but Valve is Making the Right Choice»

Among the many negative reviews from users and professional players on The International 2023 Dota 2 compendium, there are many who support Valve’s approach.

User u/kiki-iwnl published a post on Reddit in which he tried to convince dissatisfied players that they had already received quite a lot of skins and updates over the past year, and Valve warned in advance that there would be no Battle Pass this year.

• We received a collectors cache already.

• Free anniversary items.

• Gameplay was reworked with a map overhaul.

• Inventory overhaul

• Valve has already stated that battlepass will not happen this year.

Devs are probably working on CS2 & lack resources to make a full fledged battlepass. (CS has not had an operation in years).

Probably gonna get downvoted but I would have rather seen all the gameplay changes that Valve did this year than 3 new arcana’s with the same shit gameplay. DOTA has really changed a lot this year & for the better. If that means not getting an abundance of cosmetics then so be it. If this was any other company, they would just be pushing out cosmetics and do the exact OPPOSITE of what Valve is doing.

TL;DR: Gameplay is getting better and we already got free cosmetics with a collectors cache. Stop crying.
