Considering that Valve has decided to recognize the DPC in the upcoming season of Dota 2, this means that one of the most important indicators for teams is the number of earned EPT points. Teams can acquire these points by participating in tournaments organized by ESL.
Judging by the data published on the Liquipedia website, the team rankings have undergone significant transformations.
The quantity of these points not only demonstrates the high level of a team but also secures a direct invite to one of the major esports events in 2024 for Dota 2 – the yet-to-be-announced Riyadh Master or the Esports World Cup. There, participants will compete for an impressive prize pool, rumored to be the largest in the history of Dota 2.

Paradoxically,
Team Spirit, the champions of The International 2023, ended up not even in the top four. The reason is that they skipped ESL One Kuala Lumpur 2023, where teams could earn up to 4800 EPT points.
Furthermore, some teams might have ranked higher, but they lost points because their roster underwent more than three changes, leading to a complete loss of points for the club according to ESL rules.
To recap, the winners of ESL One Kuala Lumpur 2023 secured a direct invite to DreamLeague Season 22, while others will have to qualify for the major tournament through regional qualifiers, including the reigning Dota 2 world champions,
Team Spirit.
