RAMZES666 stated that two roles have disappeared from Dota 2

Roman «RAMZES666» Kushnarev stated that in modern Dota 2, the traditional distinctions between carry, offlaner, and midlaner have effectively disappeared, and now all of them perform the same role.

The esports player shared this insight during a Twitch stream.

«Right now, carry and position three are no different at all. You have to scale in both roles. There’s no hardlane in Dota anymore — there are three cores. There’s no midlaner; the concept of midlaner exists only because you’re standing alone, bro. In Dota, there are no carry heroes, no position threes… Your team always needs three cores, and they have to scale one way or another»

RAMZES666 explained that previously the carry was the main source of late-game damage, while the offlaner served as an initiator and tank. Now, both players farm and scale almost identically.

He also noted that when the offlaner used to be the hardlane, sacrificing farm for the team, this is no longer relevant. According to him, all three core positions now must be strong, accumulating gold and experience.

Earlier, Alexander «Nix» Levin expressed disappointment in Ivan «Pure» Moskalenko, removing him from the list of top carries.
