Roman “RAMZES666” Kushnarev recalls that the Glimmer Cape has recently transformed into the most sought after item because it comes with incredible benefits for cores with a relatively low investment. The item can save a player multiple times in a match and can simply be sold later.

He said this while he was streaming on Twitch.

“Why pick Glimmer Cape on cores? It's just cheap magic damage reduction. There aren't many good items for that in Dota 2 right now. Nobody really buys Pipe because it’s expensive. So, on cores Pipe isn't bought anymore. Maybe on a Dark Seer because you don’t have many other options. Glimmer is just a cheap item—a magic resistance and invisibility item. Also Nether Shawl was nerfed so Glimmer is a replacement. That is why it is popular with cores, they sell it after the have used it. Even if you just need a slot you can buy it and sell it. But really, it can save you more than once.”

RAMZES666 pointed out that Glimmer Cape is extremely popular right now because it provides invisibility, magic resistance, and crucial survivability for a low price. Additionally, players can sell it at any time if they need an item slot.
