Roman "RAMZES666" Kushnarev the offlaner of Evil Geniuses gave an interview for the GQ Youtube-channel, in which he talked about the development of eSports and his own career failures.
RAMZES666 believes that China is the most developed eSports country:
Esportsmen are considered full-fledged athletes еhere. People on the street refer to them as “wow, wow, wow.” Somnus`M from PSG.LGD walking along street, everyone will recognize him, take pictures with him. They have huge salaries, they are considered stars, like real athletes in China.
In addition, he explained the reasons for such large winnings in eSports:
Probably most people just think that eSports is some kind of easy job or hobby. That you sit, just playing the computer for days, you see nothing more in life and get paid for it. Although this isn’t so. This is a lot of work, you practically refuse everything in life - you don’t have a personal life, you lose the desire for something. You just want to get up and play, play and play in order to improve somehow. Only a few, in fact, there are six tier-1 teams in the world that always win tournaments stably.
In the end, Roman spoke about the moments because of which he wanted to leave esports:
I remember that I played in SFZ, my very first team, then I was 15 years old. I played badly enough, I was a kid who was invited into a good enough team at that time. They even paid us money. That is, I was blissed out, but played objectively poorly. It wasn’t my role, and everyone always wrote some nasty things. When you read this - your hands drop, it happens. The second moment was still when Goblak kicked me in disgrace from team, although I was not guilty of anything. There must have been two such moments in life. Well, nothing, managed, overcame. The main thing is motivation.
