Quinn Callahan said that he has absolutely no desire to return to playing Dota 2.
The player made this statement on YouTube.
"I definitely don't want to return to the game. I'm in a funny dichotomy in my life right now: I'm trying to stream and I really don't want to play Dota 2, but no one wants to watch me sweat it out in Deadlock. So now I have to choose: either play what I like or gather viewers. I've never had this choice before, it's quite interesting — I haven't figured out what I think about it yet."
The esports player honestly admitted that he doesn't even want to play Dota 2 on his streams, even though he understands that fans expect this kind of content from him. Quinn Callahan noted that he misses being a profesional player, but he is still hapy that his career is over, as he did not enjoy the game, both in matchmaking and in tournaments.
"But pubs are an absolute nightmare. I don't agree that tournaments are always fun. I never liked playing tournaments. I enjoyed hanging out with people at them, but Dota itself was always incredibly stressful. So I didn't enjoy tournaments. Winning was great, yes — after a victory, there are usually a couple of hours when you can relax and revel in the emotions, but then you slide back into hell anyway. So I don't miss the events.
I miss the unique status of being a pro player — it's very cool to feel like you're one of the best in the world in at least some field. And working hard to maintain that status is quite fun, it's a pleasant feeling. But today I am incredibly, unbelievably happy that I have ended my career."
