Ivan “Pure” Moskalenko stated that Dota 2 is becoming more and more of a team game, which makes it almost impossible to win in the current meta if one of the players is not committed to the result.

Although the player agrees that, unlike a support, a player in one of the core positions is still capable of turning the tide of the match on their own, in a situation where the teams are roughly equal in strength, insufficient effort by any member of the team will lead to defeat.

However, if you are playing in a close game where you are up against five people who are playing at their best, you are unlikely to win if even one of them is playing at half their potential."
