PGL Wallachia Season 1 marks the inaugural major tournament by PGL in 2024, initiating an exciting league series with six events planned over the next two years. This online tournament will gather 16 of the world's best teams from May 10 to 19, 2024, played without a live audience but featuring teams from the PGL studio in Bucharest. Ten teams, including renowned participants like Team Liquid, Gaimin Gladiators, and Team Secret, received direct invitations, while the remaining six slots will be filled by winners of open and closed qualifiers. Despite the common trend of including a separate MENA region qualification, organizers have not allocated a specific slot for this region for Wallachia Season 1. The tournament promises to be particularly exciting, with a prize pool of 1 million USD, making it a significant event in the Dota 2 esports scene.
