Dmitry “DM” Dorokhin thinks that the organizers should not have increased the number of teams that received direct invitations to The International 2025. The player also disagrees with the decision to allocate more slots for the qualifiers in Western Europe than for the EEU region.
The
PARIVISION player shared his opinion on Telegram.
“There are a couple of questions to the invites for the ints:
1. Why was it necessary to expand the number of invites to 8? As if 6 invites meant the most worthy and stand out collectives, with 8 invites some of them seem to be strained and controversial....
2. How does Western Europe have 2 slots and Eastern Europe 1? This is the craziest decision possible, when in WEU in the quals play full new teams with 0 results for the whole season (even constant non-entries to the Dream League), except for nigma (which would take the free slot imho), and in EEU play in the quals Aurora (tier 1 team) and Vp, which now on the online tournament demolish all the teams from WEU without a single chance and have a core that almost passed on Riyadh.”.
At the same time, the player noted that he agrees with the number of slots allocated for qualification in the Asian region, as he believes it can compete with Europe and South America. Also Dmitry “DM” Dorokhin suggested that it would be appropriate to combine the qualifications in South and North America and allocate 2 slots to it.
“p.s. I agree with 2 invites for Asia, the only region alive in dota, except Europe and SA, and I would not like their region to be represented by only 1 team. And SA quals could be combined with SA quals and give 2 slots, maybe we would see 2 SA teams on the int with quals.”
Earlier Vladimir “Maelstorm” Kuzminov questioned the objectivity of inviting two teams from the announced list of participants of The International 2025.
