Nikita "Panto" Balaganin, the captain of
Team Spirit, explained that
Team Spirit were eliminated from BLAST Slam 4 because they didn’t play according to the pre-discussed plan in the match against
MOUZ, which could’ve helped them beat their opponents.
The esports player talked about it in the team’s vlog on YouTube.
“I think in the third game we played really well for the first 10 minutes. We killed Venomancer mid, gave the game to Den, guys did well on the bottom lane, there was freefarm on top — so we had the map. We could easily play it out, but we started making wrong decisions: went to places where we shouldn’t have fought, gave away too many kills. Because of that, supports and Magi had no game. We needed to play carefully, farm and watch how they move.
Basically, if Pugna and Tusk are standing mid, you should run to the opposite side of the map, bait their TPs. That’s the point — they always play together as five. You jump on Tidehunter on top, they make four teleports, and you just back off. That’s how you stretch them around the map. We talked about it before the game, but, in my opinion, we played too straightforward”
Panto noted that the beginning of the decider map was good, but later the players started making too many mistakes. The captain explained that the opponents acted exactly as
Team Spirit predicted, but the team didn’t stick to the plan, which allowed
MOUZ to take the win.
The player emphasized that the main reason for the loss was the number of wrong decisions that completly ruined the game.
