OverDrive spoke about Vitality’s success

Alexey “OverDrive” Biryukov considers Vitality’s matches at Counter-Strike 2 tournaments to be quite boring, since the team is not only the clear favorite on the pro scene but also frequently faces opponents who are obviously weaker.

The commentator shared this opinion on Telegram.

“Not only is Vitality currently the strongest team in the world, but it’s also the luckiest. First it was the Major with ITB, Apeks, and GL, then Faze in the final, and now Aurora and NAVI. Vitality faces a team with at least some firepower every other tournament.

Obviously, they would have been the favorites anyway and would most likely have beaten the Falcons, Furia, and Spirit, but I’d like to see at least some kind of battle, not an easy playoff bracket against stat-padding teams. A very boring win for Vitality.

Vitality is the best team. Vitality would have beaten Spirit, Falcons, and Furia anyway. Let me explain the point of this post for the slow ones: a final between Vitality and Donk, Mones, and Molody at least sparks some interest; there’s at least some chance there. NAVI is a good team, Blade is the best coach, but Vitality has no one to beat them.”

According to Alexey “OverDrive” Biryukov, the team certainly looks stronger than its main competitors in the esports discipline, but if Vitality had to play finals against more successful teams, such as Team Spirit or Team Falcons, those matches would be far more interesting to watch than games against obviously weaker opponents.

As a reminder, Mathieu “ZywOo” Erbo previously assessed Vitality’s standing in professional Counter-Strike 2.
