Alexey “OverDrive” Biryukov is dissatisfied with the current VRS system on the Counter-Strike 2 pro scene. He considers it unfair that Monte can get a slot at the Major.
The analyst shared this opinion on Telegram.
"Here's an example of VRS abuse by Monte. They went to Imperial Dracula Lan a couple of times, farmed points against Tier 3 teams, and secured themselves a slot at the Major. But then they came to a Tier 1 tournament without half of their top players and left in disgrace because the level of the players does not allow them to compete on equal terms at Tier 1.
There should definitely be an intermediate tournament, like RMR used to be, to weed out all the loosers."
According to Alexey “OverDrive” Biryukov, teams can abuse the VRS system by earning points by defeating Tier 3 teams. The analyst believes that the pro scene lacks intermediate events to weed out teams that are not up to the level of the majors.
Earlier, Alexey “OverDrive” Biryukov named the main favorites of the ESL Pro League 23 tournament in Counter-Strike 2.
