The organizers of the 2026 Esports World Cup announced the postponement of the match between
Vici Gaming and
PlayTime due to suspicions of match-fixing.
A statement to that effect was posted on the tournament operator’s page on X.
“These are precautionary measures related to the detection of a breach of competition integrity and the referral of the case for investigation,” the tournament organizers stated.
The match between
Vici Gaming and
PlayTime was scheduled for July 14, but it was rescheduled for the following day due to the ongoing investigation, which resulted in the suspension of
PlayTime mid-laner Gonzalo “Darkmago” Herrera and coach Juan David “Vintage” Angulo Nico from the tournament. Nevertheless, the match between the teams remains on the schedule.
PlayTime will likely field a substitute for the match.
As a reminder, Nikita “Panto” Balaganin previously spoke out after
MOUZ was eliminated from the Esports World Cup 2026.
