Yaroslav "NS" Kuznetsov said that in the next two years the esports budget, including the Dota 2 pro scene, will be cut by multiple times, which will hit teams.

The streamer and former pro said this during a Twitch stream

"In esports budgets are being cut. For next year they are already much smaller than this year Ilya Maddison literally spoke about this recently I confirm, this is not an old man's delusion, it's true. Next year esports budgets are already heavily trimmed In a year they will be cut radically, next year they are just smaller In a year they will be smaller by multiples, if not by an order of magnitude. Unlikely by an order, but by multiples — yes"

NS noted that the budget will already be cut in 2026, but the situation will get significantly worse in 2027 He didn't say exactly what he meant but likely the number of Dota 2 tournaments will be reduced and possibly prize pools too

Given this, it's reasonable to assume pro players' incomes will fall, and some organizations, except the largest ones, may announce closure of their Dota 2 divisions

Recall that earlier NS slammed the Dota 2 x Monster Hunter crossover pointing out the essence of the event
