Yaroslav "NS" Kuznetsov expressed that ESL has to let
NAVI Junior compete in ESL One Raleigh 2025 because Myroslav "Mira" Kolpakov is right that the first-tier teams were also exploiting the same bugs at The International.
He shared this in his Telegram channel:
“I get that everyone is tired of this entire story of the ‘bug’ (I already place this in quotation marks) and the ban of the NAVI second roster. However, Mira finally talked about how this type of bug had been rampant and used by each and every one for years now. Everyone was aware, used it at Internationals, used it everywhere. There were even ways to exploit the use of the bug for the opponent's advantage if you knew the opponent was going to use it”
He explained that in fact, the situation is very vague. So many players would have a hard time deciding whether their actions were deemed as abusing a bug or simply exploiting a feature in the Dota 2. Also, as NS put it – a lot of Tier 1 teams used this bug even in the World Championships, but only one team suffered the consequences.
"From all this, it follows that no one really considered it a bug but rather a trick. It's like how wards were placed in the fog of war for a long time. It seems this has been fixed now, but it worked for many years. So, it’s a kind of double-edged situation: it’s sort of a bug, but also a feature. Everyone seems to be using it, yet only one team is punished in this specific case"
He thinks ESL need to change the rules and let without indeed allowing
NAVI Junior to take part, repeat, do the same was done, but treat it as a discipline example for others so that exploiting bugs does not go unpunished.
"I think ESL should reverse this decision and return NAVI Junior’s slot, but only this time, considering the newly uncovered facts and details. But going forward, there should be no exceptions for anyone"
Mira claims that a lot of popular teams, including the ones who participated in Masters Riyadh and The International, utilized bugs.
