Yaroslav "NS" Kuznetsov noted that Gaozu line-up problems stem from the fact that there are no younger players in the team as they all have been in the industry for more than 10 years already.

I recently came across this comment on one of his Twitch streams.

“Gaozu is a team that was, in part, constructed from the first hype corners. If you ask me what was worth the hype well that is up to you to make your own conclusions, as I have said it’s all veterans, no new blood there – well I wouldn’t say they are elderly outcasts – Ame is not even an elderly outcast he is just 27, is he 35? No Paparazi is also 28”

NS did point out that the problem is not regarding Wang “Ame” Chunyu’s reaction time and the likes, rather, as he put it, the problem is the fact that Ame plays a different style of Dota 2 and Dota changes over time. Which is why Rio points out that there is a need for younger players on the team.

"That's not to say they have given up on learning how to utilize a mouse. No, most have been around the scene for over ten years. Old people, advanced in age, need some variety, some new blood; their ideation has grown stale. You have Ame, but next to him is needed a young, super-grind-position five player with ideas, ingenuity, and energy"

Farther NS emphasized that this is not the case for Gaozu alone, but is endemic to the professional Chinese scene. In his opinion, there are still no so-called youngsters in the area that will compete with octogenarians who are at the peak of their experience and mastery.

What should be pointed out is that previously, some insiders said that Ame and Gaozu are involved in the fixing matches at ESL One Bangkok 2024 and a possible investigation is ongoing.
