Vladimir “No[o]ne” Minenko said that Deadlock will not become popular among players, because the developers from Valve combined genres that
PARIVISION member considers too different for one game.
The player shared his opinion on Twitch.
“Deadlock, in my understanding, is a dead game, stillborn. This is purely my opinion. Soror who from Valve made it.
Because it's impossible to put a MOBA and a shooter together. They are simply incompatible in themselves, in my opinion, two kinds of games. They can't be combined, they don't need to be combined. There's a MOBA, there's a shooter. Make a new shooter if you want. Why would you make a MOBA in a shooter?”
Deadlock has garnered quite a large audience of players even before the official release, being in the testing phase. Many members of the Dota 2 pro scene praised the new game, noting the similarities in mechanics. However, not everyone liked the new game. Some players also said that Deadlock is characterized by a very high threshold of entry, because it requires a good ability to play both shooters and MOBA games.
Recall that earlier Alexander “Nix” Levin also stated that Deadlock will not become too popular game. Streamer believes that the developers do not pay enough attention to the development of the corresponding cybersport direction.
