Nix and S1mple

Popular streamer and former cybersportsman Alexander “Nix” Levin responded to a reprimand against him from Alexander “s1mple” Kostylev, who pointed out on social media the modest size of Nix's prize money in the Dota 2 discipline.

Levin admitted that he hasn't achieved much success as a professional player, but didn't understand why s1mple emphasized this particular aspect of his career:

“I never argued that I didn't have a successful career and big prize money. That this lifestyle doesn't lead to peak form, I don't think anyone would argue that either. I'm responding as I see fit. I don't see the point in taking back my words”

He also commented on the impact of lifestyle on playing form and emphasized that his words were a generalization and not an attack on s1mple personally:

“If a professional player has this kind of lifestyle and he's not 15-18-20 years old anymore, it's going to have a big impact on his level of play”

That said, Nix did not criticize s1mple as a person and reiterated his merits in discipline:

“I can't say anything about s1mple as a person. I don't know him personally. The fact is he's the greatest player in CS:GO”

He added that he tries to be objective even if he encounters personal attacks against him:

“Let's say s1mple starts humiliating me or my parents. If they ask me who the greatest player in CS:GO is, I'll still say s1mple. This is despite his attitude towards me”

Earlier, Nix expressed the opinion that it would be difficult for Kostylev to return to the pro scene because of his lifestyle. In response, s1mple published Levin's prize money statistics, thus ironically questioning his credibility in such assessments.
