Nix commented on the changes in the ESL community cast rules

Alexander "Nix" Levin asserted that the alterations in ESL's rules for streamers render unofficial broadcasts of the DreamLeague Season 22 championship meaningless. Due to this, the content creator submitted a complaint to Valve.

Nix made this statement during his personal Twitch livestream.

“Regarding DreamLeague. How can you even stream with a 5-minute delay? It's absolutely impossible. With such a significant delay, the vibe of the stream is lost. I don't mind the delay in 'Dota' that's not the issue. The problem lies in the OBS delay.

Official broadcasts already have an advantage: you can't do studio casting, can't physically cast with someone, can't involve anyone externally. At most, you can start your own stream and cast. But if they also deprive you of the opportunity to interact with your audience, then it's just a TV. Interaction with the audience is the main reason why I stream tournaments.

I wrote an email to Valve and am waiting to see if they respond or not. Well, they are the kind of guys who might not respond at all. It's absolutely normal for them.”

New rules for ESL streamers

The streamer also claimed that such rule changes contradict the interests of the organizers themselves, as, in the English-speaking community, streamers are paid extra for generating audience interest in the championship. Nix acknowledges that ESL may have struck a deal with the Paragon studio, as the streamer's broadcasts take a significant portion of their traffic. He supports his arguments by stating that such rules are not characteristic of ESL.

"It appears that, in Paragon's opinion, I am taking a significant portion of viewership, so they decided to squeeze me. These rules are absolutely not characteristic of ESL. Most likely, Paragon exerted pressure and requested such rules. If our English-speaking colleagues have no issues with community casting, then this is purely a tactic against me and NS."

It's worth noting that earlier in the Dota 2 community, Valve came under criticism for using artificial intelligence in preparing the TI13 announcement.
