Alexander “Nix” Levin was dissatisfied with the opening ceremony of The International 2024 Dota 2 tournament, saying that, unlike League of Legends, which is growing every year, Dota 2 is in decline.
The streamer shared a relevant opinion in a private Twitch broadcast.
“I want to erase my memory of the last 30 minutes.
What's stopping League of Legends from growing every year? The game is garbage, the graphics there are phone graphics. But why do the developers make everything so cool there? And everything is backwards with Dota.”
Alexander “Nix” Levin was very dissatisfied with the quality of the video prepared by the organizers for the opening of the tournament, which, unlike last year's event, caused absolutely no emotion. According to the streamer's statement, such problems arose not because of low budgets, but because of the lack of motivation in the developers from Valve. Also, the content maker believes that the company continues to develop the game solely because of commercial interest, which was the reason for the decline in one of the biggest cyber sports disciplines.
“There was no creativity here. They showed the maximum bad video in PowerPoint. It takes me a month to get to that level. My half-drunk slicer can cut a better video than these guys. They cut the YouTube inserts of every Inta winner. Miracle cuts to hype music are cooler. Then everyone waved to the camera on the half-destroyed stage. And then Gabe uttered two phrases with absolutely no emotion.
That's the whole opening ceremony. It's not about budgets, it's about the desire to do something. It's just gone - there's only commercialism left. And when you do something for money, you can't do it well.
Last year's ceremony took several days to prepare for. It gave you goosebumps. But now, it's a sham. For a tick.”
Moreover, the streamer got the impression that Gabe Newell's address was generated by artificial intelligence at all.
“Maybe it's an artificial intelligence at all, not Gabe, who knows.”
Recall that earlier Alexander “Nix” Levin commented on the problems with Egor “Nightfall” Grigorenko's play in
BetBoom Team.
