Alexander “Nix” Levin believes that Dota 2 will remain popular among players for a long time to come, regardless of Valve's actions.
The streamer shared this opinion on Twitch.
“You have to understand that Dota 2 has tremendous momentum. The game has been one of the most popular in the world for a very long time. Even if it gets worse, that doesn't mean it will die. People will still play it for a very long time out of inertia. I've already given the example that people still play the first Dota, simply out of habit.”
According to Alexander “Nix” Levin, people in Eastern Europe are not inclined to change because of their unwillingness to leave their comfort zone and fear of failure. This is how the streamer explains the high popularity of Counter-Strike 1.6 among players in the region even after the release of CS2. The content creator believes that fans will continue to play Dota 2 out of habit, unwilling to learn something new.
"In general, people in our space really dislike changing their habits and trying something new. Because new things are always stressful, they always hurt, they always carry the risk of failure. In short, it's better to sit in your old, comfortable chair than to buy a new one and get used to it. And that's the basic mindset of most people. That's why people still play CS 1.6 and say that CS:GO is bad, even though CS2 has already been released."
Let us remind you that earlier Alexander “Nix” Levin called on fans to forget about Dota 2 by installing Deadlock.
