Alexander “Nix” Levin claimed that Robson “TeaGuvnor” Merritt is actually one of the developers of Dota 2 and directly influences patches for the game. The host ironically reacted to the streamer's words by trolling him with patch 7.39.
The loud statement was made during a broadcast on Twitch.
“It's just that the developer and I are different people, I don't like the way he patches. TeaGuvnor, if anything, is the Dota developer. Here you go. What have I been saying for four years? The guy on the razrab is playing sappport, here's a pruf for you. Base five on the most lowly heroes. He patches himself, **** Glimmer Cape, **** 5k HP heroes, talents. Everything I've been saying for years, here's the pruf. It's just obvious from his logs that this is the dumbest person who played his whole life on Spirit Breaker, that's all. How can he make Dota better?”
TeaGuvnor reacted ironically to such a statement and jokingly threatened to spite Nix by further weakening Dota 2's cor heroes in patch 7.39, as well as significantly buffing sapports.
“Wow, I'm a Dota developer now! In 7.39, I will only buff my “lowskill” sapport heroes. I will continue to make the game more boring. Especially for bark players who like to complain when they can't win 1x9 with flipper”
It's worth noting that TeaGuvnor is the host of The International, and has also made attempts to coach one of the teams on the Dota 2 pro scene. The community has repeatedly suspected that he may have insider knowledge of Dota 2 patches and knows their release dates, but this has never been confirmed.
