Alexander "Nix" Levin, streamer and former esports player, stated that The International 2024 might become the worst Dota 2 World Championship in the history of the game. According to Nix, only TI4 was worse.
He shared this opinion during a Twitch stream.
"It seems like this TI is on track to become the worst TI in the history of Dota. Both in terms of organization, opening ceremony, and game quality"
This year, the streamer expressed dissatisfaction with almost every aspect of the tournament, including the organization, the final's opening, and even the matches themselves. However, he noted that the situation at TI4 was potentially much worse.
"At TI4, what was there? Just all games ending in 15 minutes, all of them. The final lasted 1 hour and 10 or 15 minutes. No intrigue. Back then, the meta was to write 'GG' at the 15th minute; now, everyone plays until the end"
He also mentioned that The International 2022 was not the best either, but the organizers managed to create a memorable show with unexpected twists, which salvaged the situation.
"At TI11, at least there was a storyline with Matumbaman and his career ending, with his comeback from Last Chance. And Secret with Resolut1on, who also made it to top-2 from Last Chance"
Nix is particularly unhappy that Valve kept the same meta for The International 2024 as was present at Riyadh Masters 2024, making the World Championship feel like a repetition of the previous tournament.
Earlier, it was noted that legendary players N0tail and Jerax reunited with
OG at The International 2024.
