The first month of 2022 has passed. The main part of the Dota Pro Circuit 2021/2022 winter season has ended, and fans are waiting for the Regional Finals.
A lot of exciting things have happened this month. But hidden among the news and other informational noise is the fact that more and more Dota 2 teams are entering into agreements with cryptocurrency and NFT exchanges.
Teams look for alternatives
In 2021, the NFT market has grown to a significant scale. Artist paintings, avatars, commemorative photos and media, as well as unique game objects - all this is now rapidly gaining demand.
Naturally, exchanges are expanding and looking for new opportunities for development. At the same time, esports organizations began to increasingly turn their attention to this direction. And Dota 2 teams are no exception.

For many, the success of OG has served as a great example of how to effectively use this direction. But the twice champions of The International signed agreements with two exchanges, where they sold their commemorative NFT objects for a total amount of about a million dollars.
Other organizations have taken this into account. After all, the same DPC system, due to its length and other nuances that limit teams, prevents additional earnings from prize money.
And if last year the tournament organizers tried to hold some tournaments between seasons and TI, now this is not even observed.
There are, in fact, no tournaments for Tier 1-2 teams. Epic Esports Events, in parallel with the organization of DPC in Eastern Europe, are organizing a series of Dota 2 Champions League tournaments. However, even they had unforeseen problems this year, which are the result of a lack of a DPC system.
For various reasons, at the moment 6 teams refused to participate or withdrew already during the tournament. Neither teams nor tournament organizers now have the opportunity to cooperate and organize some kind of event even during a break from the DPC. And this means that players do not have the opportunity to participate in online tournaments and earn extra money, as before.
Therefore, organizations are looking for alternative, promising and more stable areas for cooperation.
BOOM Esports and GamesPad

BOOM Esports took first place in DPC Southeast Asia. Therefore, it is not surprising that many are interested in cooperation with the leader of SEA region.
On January 22, the Organization announced a partnership with GamesPad, which became the team's sponsor.
GamesPad is a one-stop shop for everything GameFi, metaverse and NFT. It brings together a gaming incubator, game-specific launchpad, decentralized venture capital, NFT aggregator and marketplace, in-house game studio, and much more. GamesPad is committed to supporting and incubating game entrepreneurs, offering them mentorship, advisory, and network connections in the gaming and crypto space.
Gambit Esports and EXMO

The global cryptocurrency exchange EXMO has become the general partner of the Russian club Gambit Esports. This agreement concerns not only two Dota 2 rosters of the organization, but also many others.
The partnership is for 1 year. As part of this collaboration, Gambit, with the support of EXMO, will introduce esports fans in detail to the possibilities of cryptocurrencies, and will also help debunk many myths in this industry.
EXMO is a cryptocurrency exchange, founded in 2014 which provides ample opportunities for trading and storing cryptocurrencies for more than 2 million traders from all over the world. The platform regularly expands its functionality, replenishes the list of assets for trading and aware its users with cryptocurrencies.
Team Spirit and Bitget

The champions of The International 2021 are not far behind their colleagues and on January 27 announced their cooperation with the Bitget crypto exchange from Singapore, which sponsors Juventus FC. For Team Spirit, this is the first contact with the world of cryptocurrencies.
Nikita «Cheshir» Chukalin, CEO of Team Spirit:
We’re glad that the most progressive companies are becoming our partners. Bitget is undoubtedly a future-oriented company that perfectly aligns with our values. Esports and cryptocurrency, things that seemed surreal not so long ago, are an integral part of our lives now. We at Team Spirit are looking forward to our future collaborations with Bitget!
One way or another, in 2022 we are waiting for even more news that esports organizations are starting their cooperation with cryptocurrency and NFT exchanges.
