newbee dispute match fixing allegations cda have sent records to valve
On May 15, the CDA officially announced that Newbee received a lifetime ban from CDA and IMBA due to match-fixing. On the same day, Newbee appealed the re-examination of the case and the provision of evidence in match-fixing.

Two weeks later, after the CDA issued an official verdict, Newbee made public a lawyer letter of demand sent to CDA to provide confirmation in match-fixing from the organization’s players:

1.It can be deducted from the timeline that the alliance issued the announcement before the interviews were over, which is obviously unconventional and suspected of maliciously discrediting the client;
2.According to the team members, they were intimidated by the other party during the interviews;
3.Throughout the interview process, the team members repeatedly asked the association to provide evidence for the match-fixing allegations but the staff did not show any evidence from beginning to end, while they induced the players to make unfavorable statements with intimidation and temptation;
4.After the interview, each player sent an appeal application to the league twice, but no response was received:

The association’s behaviors above have triggered negative comments on our club and members in the public, making the club and members suffer from all kinds of blame. In view of the situation, the club has a reason to believe that there is a possibility that some members in the association were maliciously infringing the reputation of the trustor and our members.

To seek a proper solution, the trustor demands the association to provide the club with the evidence related to the announcement above within 3 days after the association receives this notice and revoke all the relevant announcements CDA have posted online before this whole matter is ascertained.

CDA has denied allegations of intimidation of Newbee players and claims that all interview records have already been sent to Valve and the Chinese publisher Perfect World:

The CDA Association conducted cross-checks and on May 15th, we borrowed the meeting room of Mars Media to conduct a separate and detailed inquiry to the five players, and informed the players in advance that this inquiry was based on a voluntary basis and that we recorded the entire process. There was no coercion, intimidation, etc. throughout the inquiry.

The CDA Association submitted all the videos to Perfect World on May 18 and to Valve on May 19.

During the investigation talk, CDA Association always hoped the players could realize their errors and mend their ways. After the investigation, players and relevant interest groups chose to collude with each other, and they tried to overturn the fact they stated alone in the talk. Thus, we were very disappointed.

CDA Association will firmly stick up for the announcement made on May 15th. Again, we emphasize that based on the ecology and environment of China DOTA2 professional tournaments and our zero tolerance of improper profit-making activities like match fixing, CDA Association will never appease such behavior.
